Oh, the Things I’ve Learned!

I don’t know about you, but for me, recovering from the mental toll of COVID has been a long and winding road. If you knew me in the “before times,” you’d remember that crowds and big events never fazed me. But after three years of self-imposed isolation, the past two years have been a journey—one filled with cautious steps back into the world through family gatherings, concerts, and more.

Last year, I dipped my toe back in by attending my first in-person NAPO conference (and, yes, I left early). But last week, I took a big leap—I attended the annual conference for The Photo Managers in San Diego, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in years!

In the lead-up, I enrolled in the Photo Managers Masterclass, where I spent months learning and connecting with others in this growing field. Our conversations were full of insight—focused on business growth, helpful tips, and the power of community. And then came the conference itself: five days of energy, education, and inspiration, surrounded by professionals from around the world who are just as passionate as I am about preserving and sharing our most cherished assets—our photos and home movies.

It’s going to take me weeks, maybe months, to fully process and implement everything I took in—but I’m genuinely excited about that. One thing I’m especially thrilled to share is this: I’ve been inspired to launch a course on photo book making!

This idea came straight from my clients—you’ve told me time and time again that photo books are something you deeply want to create but just don’t have the time, energy, or technical know-how. That’s where I come in. Start Here with Lisa is here to help make it easier.

If you're interested in being a beta tester for this course before it goes live, I’d love to hear from you! Sharing this goal with you all helps hold me accountable—and hopefully gets you excited too.

So many tips and tricks were shared last week at the conference, and as a proud 2025, I’d love to hear from you Masterclass graduate, I’m eager to pass that wisdom along. If you're looking for help organizing your photos or telling your story, I’m here—and I can’t wait to support you.

Let’s preserve your memories together. Tell your story now, so others don’t have to later.
