Mid-Year Camera Roll Clean Up Challenge

‍ ‍

It is hard to believe we're already halfway through 2026! How has your year been so far? Have you enjoyed an unforgettable vacation or celebrated milestones like a birth, graduation, wedding, or family reunion?

Now for a different question...

How many photos are currently on your camera roll? Go ahead - take a peak now.

Does that number feel overwhelming to you? Have you received those "You're running out of storage" notifications from your cloud provider?

If so, you are not alone.

This month, I'd love to invite you to join my Mid-Year Camera Roll Cleanup Challenge. It's completely free, requires no special app, and only takes a few minutes each day.

Step 1: Tell Me Your Starting Number

Simply reply to this email with the current number of photos on your camera roll. That's it!

Step 2: Travel Back in Time

Whenever you have a few minutes to spare, while your coffee brews, your tea steeps, you're waiting for a Zoom meeting to begin, sitting on a plane, riding in the car (as a passenger!), or winding down for the night, open up your Photos app.

Use the Search feature and type today's date, such as "July 1" or "1 July." Different phones and software versions may display the search a little differently, so use whichever works for your device.

You'll be taken back to photos you captured on that date in previous years.

Step 3: Delete What No Longer Matters

Remove the photos that have served their purpose:

  • Grocery lists

  • Accidental screenshots

  • Receipts

  • Blurry duplicates

  • Photos you simply don't need anymore

Along the way, you'll probably rediscover memories that make you smile. Maybe you'll find a picture that reminds you to call a friend, share a memory with family, or simply appreciate a moment you forgot.

Step 4: Keep It Small

Spend just 5 - 15 minutes a day, or a little longer when you have extra time.

One request: please don't do this for more than 30 minutes at a time. I want this to become a sustainable habit, not another overwhelming project that gets abandoned after one marathon session.

Step 5: Celebrate Your Progress

At the end of July, I'll check back in and ask for your new camera roll total.

Even if you've filled your phone with vacation photos this month, I think you'll be surprised by how much lighter and more organized your photo library will begin to feel.

Every photo you intentionally keep becomes easier to find, enjoy, and share.

Remember, your photos tell your story. Taking a few minutes today helps ensure those stories aren't buried beneath thousands of images you'll never look at again.

Ready to get started?

Reply to this email with your current camera roll count, and let's see what we can accomplish together this month! If you need any additional help in getting this started, schedule a session with me, I would love to help get you going!
